Movie Must See's

Sometimes when I get really bored and there's nothing to do, I spend hours watching movie trailers on Youtube, IMDB, and Apple Trailers. I cannot be the only person who does this, I swear. But I have come to the conclusion that these next few years are going to be some epic movie years. I can feel it in my bones.

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters - Welcome to the Percy Jackson fandom. Were we fangirl about the sequel to a movie that we didn't even like. Really though, how many of you out there have read the PJO books (and now HoO books), and were absolutely nauseated by the first movie!? CRIMES AGAINST THE FANDOM WERE COMMITTED. AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET IT. I know I'm going to loathe this movie, but that's not gonna stop me from going to see it along with all of my other crazy fangirling friends. It's just something we do. We fangirl.
(In theatres August 7)

Catching Fire - I think we can all pretty much agree that this movie is going to be kick butt awesome, because there is not a person on this planet who doesn't adore Jennifer Lawrence, and Josh Hutcherson. These are facts set in stone.
(In theatres November 22)

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Who else saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey? Because it was aawweesooooooooome. You can just picture me singing that and dancing around, that's how awesome it was.
(In theatres December 13)

Thor: The Dark World - Yet another sequel, so not much more to say at this point, except that I hope Natalie Portman dies. Ugh. Don't judge me, I'm a hater, but I just don't like her. Except for maybe in Star Wars, I liked her in Star Wars. But that's not the point, the real reason everyone is going to see this movie is because of Loki. I LOVE YOU TOM HIDDLESTON.
(In theatres November 8)

About Time - I can't even tell you how much I want to see this movie. It's rated R, and normally I don't go for the rated R ones because that's just a bit shady. But hopefully this movie isn't like that, and I guess I'm willing to take the chance because a) it looks adorable and b) it has Rachel McAdams, who I absolutely love.
(In theatres November 8)

R.I.P.D - Holy smokes I am so excited for this movie! I abso-tute-ly love Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, plus this looks hilarious. Kind of like Men in Black but for dead people? Most certainly on my "To See" list.
(In theatres July 9)

The Butler - This movie looks simply amazing. It's one of those movies that you know you're going to see, and come away with a whole new perspective on the potential of individuals and how one person can effect change. I am also excited because it has Oprah. I mean, come on, it's Oprah.
(In theatres August 16)

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - I've talked about this movie before in my book post, so you should know a little bit about it. Before you see the movie, I suggest you read the book, as it's most likely to be a movie that relies on the fanbase to know what's going on because they've all read the book. You know what I mean? But obviously you must see it. Because it will be epic.
(In theatres August 21)

These are only the top 8 of my list! There are so many movies coming out next year as well that I'm dying to see, but movie posters/trailers haven't been released yet, so I'm waiting in suspense! E-mail me with any cool movies you're looking forward to seeing, or comment below!

Sense and Sensibility II

So my dear dear friend finally put the rest of the pictures on Facebook, so now I can steal them from her.

I wish I had more pictures to show you, but I don't.
Geez I need to get better at this picture thing - only problem is I lost my camera cord. again.
Oh the woes of being an unorganized blogger.

These pictures kind of give you an insight into the lifeblood of theatre. We're really all just crazy people lookin' for an adrenaline rush, because if you don't think getting up on stage in front of 100+ people won't give you an adrenaline rush, you've got your head screwed on wrong.
But it's the kind of adrenaline rush that lasts. It lasts because it's a part of you. Each time you think about it you get that jumpy sensation in your stomach, like oh-my-gosh-i-actually-did-that. It turns you topsy turvy.
But theatre people don't just do theatre for the adrenaline, they do it because a part of themselves is in the character. Without someone to be and someone to act, it's almost like we're nothing. We're just boring old us. But being a character? That's something.
That's taking on a whole new personality, a whole new perspective, and a whole new life. You tell your story, because it is your story. For now anyways. So you tell it and you tell it well, because at the end of the day you have to give up that other person who you've become. You have to say good-bye and you don't want to leave them without making sure you did all you could do to be them.

Sense and Sensibility

Well, these are only some of the pictures (I'm waiting on the others from a couple of my friends).

Sense and Sensibility was one of the best things of my life. I am such a romantic, so the story was like a dream come true, but the cast was one of the best casts I've ever had the extreme pleasure to be on.
One of my best friends did the show with me, and I was so excited because I didn't know if he was going to (he ended up being Edward!). I made some fantastic new friends through this experience, friends that I hope to have for a really really really long time.
And I learned a lot about myself and my acting abilities - most definitely the hardest thing I've ever had to do on stage. Slap someone. Maddie (aka Mama D) is one of the nicest people ever, and it just so happens that she was Ms Lucy Steele. AKA MY ARCH NEMESIS. aka I had to slap her. Can you see why that's a problem? Cause it was.

It literally took me months to be able to slap her, and on all of the performance nights I slapped her good and hard (there was a strange sense of satisfaction that I did it. I'm not a mean person, but it was kinda fun.. shhhh).

And THEN, I had to go and break my wrist (eep!) and Ms Peplow looked like she was gonna have a heart attack when she saw that my cast was pink (what can I say? I'm a naturally selfish person and I really really really wanted a pink cast. Hey! I broke my wrist! Give me some credit). Luckily it turned out that my costume was pink (ohpinkiloveyousomuch), so everything went fine, I just covered my cast with my pashmina/shawl.

{the usual necessities}

Well, the show must go on!
Actually, speaking of the show must go on, the guy who played Colonel Brandon basically-almost-kinda-butnotreally broke his foot! Actually, we slipped up and got hurt so many times we were convinced someone said MACBETH during a rehearsal, so we were cursed.

Long story short, Sense and Sensibility made my life better. I'm glad I did it. I should take chances more often.

Ca m'est egal

Well - CAST LIST CAME OUT TODAY!

Guess who I am!?
No, it's not Eleanor. (I know! I was getting all psyched for it too. Dang it.)
I'm Mrs. John Dashwood!
Yet another evil character to add to my repertoire... it's actually weird how I'm always the evil mean people.

Flowers for Algernon - fires the mentally handicaped guy who works at her bakery
Macbeth Did It - the slut
Get Smart - a double agent

oh! and Freshman Play - the mean teacher who hates the dumb kid.

It seems to be a recurring theme.... awkward.

No, I actually am excited for this play! Sense and Sensibility has long been one of my personal favorites, second only to Emma (the new one, with Romola Garai). However, in books, Pride and Prejudice will always be the favorite.

<<to sum it all up, I'm actually really excited for this production and am so happy I made the cast list!>>

I Certain Kind of Disappointment

I made callbacks! At my high school, we have a theatre show every season.
The Fall Mainstage.
The Winter Mainstage.
The Spring Musical.
(and then the often-forgotten about, Senior One-Acts)

This year's Fall Mainstage was Get Smart (based off of the tv series), and it was a blast! One of my all time favorites :)

This year's Winter Mainstage is going to be Sense and Sensibility! The single most amazing Jane Austen novel of all time.
While Mr. Darcy will always have a place in my heart, Colonel Brandon owns it. Love of the most sincere kind. What a man.

All I've ever wanted to do, was be Marianne. She is my Jane Austen twin. If we could meet in reality - we would be best friends. Undoubtedly.
So naturally, I tried out - and I found out I made callbacks this morning! So I went in after school and prepared to stun my director (Ms. Peplow) into making me Marianne.

You can imagine how that went.

I didn't read for Marianne once (a cold read is when you show up for callbacks and read parts of the script as different characters, so the director can get a feel of how you work with certain people as a certain character). I read for Eleanor at least 4 times.
Don't get me wrong, I love Eleanor - she's a beautiful person.
But Marianne is.... well.... Marianne.
I think she got it so stuck in her mind that I was going to be Eleanor that she wouldn't even let my explore different characters.

sigh.

Well - I hope I at least get a part.
It's a certain kind of disappointment.
