Frustration

You may have noticed some changes... again... on da blog.
If you haven't, seriously, please get your eyes checked. And possibly your brain.
One of my many faults is really that I'm never satisfied with what I have, I always want more. It could be because my parents spoil me (not likely, since they don't), or it could just be because I'm an irrational human being. Thinking about it, it's probably the latter.
I've been experimenting with changing the HTML of my blog, through a bunch of tutorials I've found and templates I stumbled across. Why do people make it look so easy? Cause it's not.
I hate technology.

So although I'll still be tweaking things, I'm still looking for someone to help me through the process (aka do it for me). Because seriously, I couldn't be more lost if you dropped me in the middle of the ocean.
So if you see, hear, learn about, google, or whatever, ANYBODY who does blog designs. Please. I'm begging you. e-mail me.
A cluttered blog is my pet peeve. Especially my own!

Before the weather got so hot I nearly melted, I did another DIY project! However, it turned out badly.

I took some black thrifted jeans and cut them into shorts.

This is the bleach I used - I don't know if it's 100% or what, but it sure worked well! I didn't want to use too much and waste it, so I put it in a spray bottle

I cut off the cuff of one of the legs to do a quick strip test - just to see how the bleach would effect the color.

This is the look I ended up with, to be honest, I hate it.
Here are some pointers to make sure you don't hate yours too;
>>DEFINITELY do a strip test. It gives you and idea of the finished product
>>The bottle I used was, versatile. Depending on how you turned the nozzle you could make it spray in a concentrated squirt, or a more misty one. In the above picture, 1. is the concentrated squirt - and 2. is the misty patch.
>>Make sure you cut a little lower than you want! I accidentally cut one leg too short, now I can't roll it up very well - and the edges will be fraying like crazy! Ugh.

Although my shorts didn't turn out so hot, hopefully yours will! I'd love to see a link below, so don't be shy!
Plus, I think I have a new plan for these lovely shorts 'o mine. But we shall see...

Today is Tuesday. You're Welcome.

I know... I'm a bad blogger. Sigh. It's just, SUMMER! So much to do and so little to do at the same time (how does that happen?)
I've continued my vigorious reading schedule (so excited for book club this month!), my brother is home from rehab (we'll talk about that later), my little sister and I went shopping at Hobby Lobby and Walmart yesterday (and I accidentaley stepped on a piece of glass... awk) - which means I will have DIYs and crafts coming your way any day now!
Patience is a virtue my friends ;)
(and procrastination is an art form)

But my real purpose in this post is to inform you of some give-a-ways! (I KNOW RIGHT!? BE EXCITED!)
The first of which is hosted by a blog I follow, Vicki Christine
I really love her blog because she's so witty! And she's pregnant - which is oddly enough a bonus for reading her blog. Because who doesn't love reading about pregnant women?
But this give-a-way is so exciting! It's for a favorite store of mine, Shabby Apple

I really love them because their clothes are modest. The company was created by a Mormon, who saw the gap in fashion - a place for cute modest clothes! So she created this company and it only produces modest clothes! A lot of the clothes are themed too - so it's fun to look through the lookbooks. Here are some of my personal favorites:

To enter:
Simply go to Vicki Christine, and follow the directions!

Easy right?

xoxo

ps - I'm still looking for someone to give my blog a makeover - anyone have any advice?

pps - do ever get that feeling that a small worm is crawling on the surface of your eye? Maybe I'm the only one....

Monday Mornings

Today we're gonna talk about gift ideas! My brothers birthday is coming up, and a few of my friends are also celebrating another year to their repetoire - so I decided it was time to figure out what to get them.
Let's be honest, buying gifts is HARD. But making them? Sooooo much easier! It's personalized and unique - aka puurrfect.
So here are my favorites:

Yes, unfortunately basically all of these DIYs are for girls. Just deal with it, because we all know it's easier to get things for girls than for boys (they're so dog-on picky!)

These are MY favorite gift DIYS, do you have any?

Cravings

I've been consciously making a list in my head of things I need to buy for this Spring/Summer season. Mainly because every day when I get up I look at my closet, I moan when I see my clothes, and then pull on my yoga pants for the rest of the week. IT NEEDS TO STOP.
srsly guys, I look like a bum almost aaalll the time. I want to look cute!
So here is my list:

Mint Green pants. I saw a girl wearing these in school today, and in real life they're a mintier green. It was love at first sight - I just kept on thinking how much I wanted those jeans. And although envy is one of the 7 deadly sins (I think), I couldn't help myself.

White cropped jeans. Mainly because I have this dream of looking like Divya from Royal Pains every single day this summer:

I mean, need I say more?

These neon coral vans felt just so, spring to me. I love the color, and vans are super comfortable.

Cropped jeans, none of this short shorts stuff. Nuh uh, no way pal. I feel like I'd get extremely cold all the time, and my leg fat would jiggle when I walk.

And if they were possible to find, I'd post a picture of cacky capris. Because I also want a pair of those.

Feel free to donate to the Cute Clothes fund, all proceeds go directly to me and my shopping whims.

xoxo

ps. What are some clothing items you're craving?

Monday Mornings

Yet again, another Monday Morning's post in the evening... sigh. One of these days I'll get organized to actually post this at the allotted time.
Today's post is an outfit post. Because let's be honest, our lives revolve around clothes. It sounds conceited and maybe a little preppy, but think about it! When you get up in the morning and get dressed, how long does it take you? Maybe it only takes you 10 minutes (I envy you), or an hour (you should envy ME) - but what you wear each day is important.
Currently we've been having strange weather here in my hometown. But that in itself isn't exactly unusual. Our weather is messed up - and today was a high of 68 degrees! But it rained all day.

I'm wearing my African safari pants (H&M). They're loose, cacky, and cute. I feel so fashion forward in these! But I have to admit, I miss my yoga pants. I'm too lazy for my own good.

And yet my lovely mother consented to hosting a quick photo shoot. Don't you just love her?

I've been dying to wear this cardigan + top for ages. I bought it from Forever 21 and have been saving it for a day when my hair looked nice to wear it. I paired it with my fluffy orange cardigan (from NY and Company) because I'm a fan of people who can color block and I wanted to attempt it. Plus the mannequin was wearing an orange cardigan too, so I figured it MUST be a good idea.
I just really love the flowery fluffiness of this cardigan, it's fun to play with when you get bored.

I really loved the shirt because of the peter pan collar. Collars are back in fashion and I've been dying to make myself one/buy a shirt that actually has one! That and the perfect teal color goes well with my skin tone - and although I'm not usually a fan of polka dots, these dots were just so non assuming that I couldn't help but love them.
The shoes above are my prom shoes! I thank my gullible father for buying them for me, because I tricked him into it. The shoes went well with the dress because they added a little bit of pizzaz and  pop that I like to call "the Madison effect."

My hair was the challenge of the day. I wanted to do something cute that you can only really do with straight hair, since it wasn't it's normal curl. So I went on my craftgawker lists and promptly found this hair recipe. My history teacher looked at my and said, " I love your hair! It's from a decade that I can't remember, but I absolutely love it! You should wear it like that more often." Needless to say she's one of my favorite teachers.

And this is my mother. I think this pretty much explains our relationship. Don't you agree mom?
